Dallas Ft.Worth Zoo

We took Mom and Leo to visit Dallas Ft.Worth Zoo on the second week of September so he could burn all energy he had.... It worked. He went back home and crashed. We had fun. The weather was really nice... cool breeze. I wish we will have a chance to go back and visit the zoo again.

Disney World Trip with Mom

We escaped our busy schedule to Orlando, FL heading toward Disney World. It's one of the places in my Mom wish list to visit. Also Leo is old enough to be able to have a little fun over there.

2.30 Hours flying to FL seemed like 2 years. This was the second time I flew with Leo. He didn't seem to corporate, yet we managed to get there at the rental car place. We got an SUV car since we several bags, stroller, baby car seat and countless of Leo's items.

I bought 5 days pass adding the park hopping option in case we would like to hop from one park to another. The weather was awful there. It had been raining everyday pouring for 2-3 hours everyday.

We didn't get a lot of time to see everything since Leo had to take a nap around noon, and it was good for my Mom to take a break. However, I was glad to have a chance to spend time with my family. Leo had so much fun at Magic Kingdom riding baby stuffs - dumbo, aladin flying carpet. Even my Mom had fun in Disney Hollywood playing 4D moving interaction. At first I thought she would have come out and threw up, but she loved it...and that was amazing.

7 days passed by so fast and I didn't want the time to end. Knowing to come back and seeing work piling up to the roof was a bit scary. However, I survived closing for this month. This trip will be in my memory forever!!!

The Beauty of Thai Classical Songs by Danu Huntrakul

I got 2 cassette tapes from my Mom about 10 years ago. Since that time I was fallen in love of Danu Huntrakul's Songs, amazed by his talent and determination to create and arrange Thai classic song with the delicate sound of Western Orchestra in modern style.

Several moving from town to town I lost those cassettes. I have been craving to listen his music for years. Finally I discovered them in Imeem website and excited to find several people admiring his works like I do. I grew up with very traditonal Thai style. My grandfather love Thai classical music. It was a daily rutine I could here the music from his house. I also had a chance to take Thai dance class. Not a lot of people know, and they couldn't believe that I did it :)

Thing have changed and here I am living in US listening to several kind of music- Jazz, Lounge, Pop, Rock, Hip-hop, Electric, Hevy Metal and etc. Still the tiny spot of my heart always preserve to turn the clock back and taste what I used to listen in my childhood. It always comfort me to be able to feel it again..... Thanks to you Mr. Danu

Mark & Heather's Wedding @ March 1, 2008

We got an invitation from our next door neighbour - Mark & Heather to their wedding ceremony and reception on March 1, 2008. They are the best neighbour sent straight from God :D

We couldn't ask for the better people than this couple. As soon as we moved in they welcome us with a beautiful cake. When we threw Leo's 1st birthday party, they gave us a most extrodinary cake I've ever seen in my life. The 3rd cake we got was for Christmas. It was super delicious.

Mark works as a manager of Iron Cactus - the very trendy and well known restaurant in down town Dallas.

We attended ther ceremony at church in downtown dallas, and the reception at Iron Cactus.

We had grea time and feel honnor to be part of their specaial moment :D

Now they are in Mexico for Honeymoon :D

Our 2 dogs are so happy with our new home. The hard wood floor keep them cool all the time. Hershey is 6 years old and Bambam is now 5 years old.

They got upset last year because we just had Leo and we have been busy keeping up with him. Now we are king of settling in and they are so much happier than ever. They love Leo and they are very protective of him.

Family Trip to Uptown on Sunday :D

On Sunday we decided to spend quality time together by walking to catch the Trolly to go to uptown. It was the first time for Leo to ride the Trolley. He had so much fun looking to buildings, cars, and people walking around uptown. We stopped at Borders to shop for book.

Jose bought a very interesting book that made my eyes pop.... I can't tell you what is the name but its a rate xxxxx :D

I wish we could do something like this again.... may be aquarium next time..

Bad Month for Mr. Leo

After a bad pneumonia last week, thing was getting worse for my little man. We sent him back to school on Thursday 01/31/08 hoping he would be all right.

1/2 of Leo's classmates have been attacking by a very bad stomach flu. We hope he would be lucky didn't get anything. Before we put him back to school, we even called the director to make sure that school has been cleaning everything in the class to make sure the virus would not spread to the rest of the kids.

He was doing fine and we were happy until Saturday morning. He vomited several times and ended up had diareah. Jose and I were so worry especially me. I found the emergency clinic for the baby in West Plano called "Acute Kids Urgent Care". We decided to take Leo there. Last time when we took Leo to the after hour clinic in Children hospital was a horrible experience.

We met the doctor in the clinic and nothing much he could do. He gave Leo a presciption to help with vomiting. The virus would probably last in his body around 2-5 days.

Leo didnt eat anything all day yesterday. Today he starts to have some liquid fruits which make me feel a lot better. He has been playing and sleeping most of the time.

This month has been a very difficult month for our family. I am praying to God to help me get through. Once Leo is getting better, it will be the time for me to go back to church after almost a year of taking time taking care of Leo.

The Very Sick Day of Leo

Leo has been sick with very bad cold for 3 weeks. We took him to see the doctor and got anti-biotic for his cold. We thought thing were getting better and suddenly one night his breathing sounded so strange. We took him to see the doctor again and this time and got the bad news. He developed a pneumonia in his right lung. I was shock and asked myself what I did wrong. Why I let this thing happen to my baby....

Our pediatricians are very nice. They told us it wasn't our false, but it was from the cold he got and the accumulation of the stuffs in side his throat went to blog the lung. He stayed home since last Thursday and has to take ton of medicines and doing a breathing treatment. I am working from home and trying to be muti-task mom.

The medicine makes him very hyper. Sometimes he was in extremely happy mode and sometimes I saw a little devil walked around in my house :D

Life in Downtown Dallas

It's been long time I haven't updated my blog. We moved to live in downtown dallas for almost a year now. Our life have been changed a lot. Smaller space made me nervous, but closer to work is very nice. I can walk to work in less than 10 mins.

For 6 years working for TXU -4 years working in downtown I have seen a lot of changed happening here. The first year I was working in downtown is in 2001. Downtown looks like a very dangerous place. There were tons of homeless, and empty spaces. There were not a lot of restaurants to eat. I packed lunch to eat at work everyday.

Now downtown dallas is hot than ever. They are many modern condominums, restaurants, schools, churchs, cmpanies, exclusive bars and lounges. It become the cool place for young professional folks to hang out after work. Everyone wants to move in downtown. It's very ironic.

Jose and I are uptown/downtown people who always dream to have a taste od downtown life. We bought the small 1 bed/1 study room right in the heart of fowntown Dallas; main street which is actually be our wondow view to see people walking crossing the street and also in and out the building and clubs accross the street.

Leo is now 6 months. He weights 18.3 or 8.2 kg.

He is a center of joy and happiness for us. He makes me laugh and smile of his silly trick everyday.

We thanks God everyday that he sent Mom to be with us. Without her our life would be missirable. There is no word to express of how we fortunate to have her here.

Leo is the most precious little guy that God brought him to our life.

He was born on Nov 16 @ 12: 23 pm weight 7.11 lbs.

He is my world now and I feel like I can do anything.... anything to keep his smile as long as I can.

Now I understand and appreciate everything my Mom did and gave to me wholeheartedly.

My 32 birthday was a simple day for me until I got a birthday card from Jose. It made the whole day different when I read the card. I thanks God everyday that Jose came in to my life. He is truely my solemate. This is what he wrote

This Year is the year of excietment. Just for the 1st quater it seems like the whole year has gone by already. Jose and I have done so many thing. From setting up JSA Residential Design for Jose's house plan project to Tuk-Tuk Inc.; the asian restuarnat I partener with my friend (Pum) here in downtown Dallas.

While we were so busy with our projects........God gives us and oppertunity to have half of Jose and Me.

We are going to be a parent... I am now 6 weeks pregnant. The news that we have never thought about it. Gods knows if he let me and Jose decide perhaps it would never happen.

This is a miracle for us. From last 2 surgeries I had, there is only less than 5% that I can have a baby. Even the doctor was so surprised. He told me " It's miracle".

From now, our life will change. Our goal is to be the best parent to make the kid a good person in society. Hope God guides us the way so we can do our best :)

Scared MAYA Kingship at Dallas Museum of Art

We went to visited the special exhibition of Dallas Museum of Art in late Feb. The exhibition opens a window of the past to the most world's ancient civilization - Maya people.

"Lords of Creation: The Origins of Sacred Maya Kingship explores the development of divine kingship among the ancient Maya, who lived in an area that encompassed modern southern Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, and western Honduras."

Jose was so excited to see several objects acquired from the museum in Honduras.

For myself, I was amaze to see how Maya culture was so florish as much as we are now in our society. Maya people created a lot of the unique of art works from jade, clay, brick, metal. They also created their own language, and calendar.

Nows a day, there are not many Maya people left. The world is forgetting these people and move forward. Same thing happen in Thailand; my country. I don't know in the next 10-20 years how many Thai people who really appreciate Traditional Thai Art, music, food....... will have left.

Trip to Thailand 2005 - Prasanmitr's Gang

The best time of 2005 was to go back to visit my family and friends in Bangkok. One thing I can always count on is friendship from my high school friends. For more than 10 years we never had a chance to meet everyone at the same time. Math and I are here in US. The rest are in Thailand. Gaem is going to get her PHD in England.

After I wrote about SoCo for 2-3 days, we got a call from sales office at "Mertopolitan"; another luxuary Condo in downtown dallas. The price per square feet is higher than SoCo, but we will get a brand new house with more finish look. The location is better because it's one block closer in to the heart of down town. The most important is Jose loves this complex. We thought that it will be a better investment than SoCo eventhough we will get the smaller unit.

SoCo 506

SoCo 506 is the Condo Jose and I found in downtown Dallas. This property is so unique. Once it's used to be a warehouse.

"In a period between 1923 and 1925, the Santa Fe Railroad built a four-building complex on three adjacent blocks in Downtown Dallas to centralize transfer and warehousing operations. Underground rail tunnels connected the buildings and circumvented bustling downtown rail traffic. Soon, the Santa Fe tunnel complex became one of the area's most important arteries as steam trains from all over the country unloaded goods in a depot under the buildings. Sadly, the building sat vacant for more than a dozen years as plans to convert the space fell through. In 1997, under the ownership of Southwest Properties (now Westmount Realty Capital) the old terminal warehouse was returned to prominence and became one of the first buildings in downtown to be converted into loft apartments."

We like the building the first time we visit. It gives us an industrial feeling with expose colum, and concrete celing and wall. We went to visit the sale office several times, and kept looking at the floor plans. There are 22 difference floor plans. Finally we stopped at tiny little model called model "6" With this space, we will fit 2 people, and 2 dogs. It's kind of challegne to utilize every sqft we have.

Jose is planning to build the plat form for our bed. The space under the plat form will be our storage, and drawers. We will build the walls for clothes, and washer room to attach door to enclose the space. Most of the jobs will be DITY (Do It Yourself). We will have help from Jeremy (Jose's friend) to build the plat form. I hope it will come out nice.

No more taking the bus back to Las Colinas every evening, I will just walk to my house or gym for 10 mins max. It's perfect for me because the house will be so close to work. I can just be lazy and wake up late and still make it to work on time. I can even ride my bike to work. At last it's what I've been wanting to have the open space house without traditional look. I know it's a little bit selfish since there is no space for guests, but I think we can manage it.

Thanks God for helping us find SoCo. It will be hommy for us for a while until we change our mind :)

CiAo HoUsY!!

Seems like it' very diificult for us to build our housy!! Things happened through the rezone process has made us think twice about the housy.

The lot needs to be rezoned due to the size of the lot is smaller than the City of Dallas requirement. The process of rezoning is very complicate. We submited the application to rezone the lot since September. The City requires the respond of the neighbours (in that community). Most people who live there are senior citizens. They don't like our design. The told us that the design is out of scale and out of character. Most of the houses in the community are very old built from woods. Look liks there is no any development since 20 years ago. Even though we have a good intension trying build something nice and develop the area to have a touch of and urban, people there don't want to accept the new change.

The last public hearing did not give us the final answer. Jose needs to attend the next hearing on Dec 8. We should know the answer that day. We have been praying to God to give us an oppertunity to do something we want, but if we can't it's fine for us as long as we are togther.

We feel so exhaust. For me, I don't want to build the house and live there anymore if I have to face those people who opposed our rezone. If the lot can be rezoned I want to save that space in the future until that area change. Hope we can do something cool in the next 5 -10 years in our lot or some where else :D

We got the respond back from the city that we should only build 2 stories house. It was a little bit of disspointment for Jose and I, but we finally try to accomodate the city recommendation. The house will be 2 stories, with the same lay out. Jose just got the new drawing soft ware, and he was trying to work on the plan yesterday. He hasn't finished adding the windows for every side of the house yet. However, I really like the look of it and here are the pictures.

On the labor day weekend we took a trip to Cancun. It is an official Honeymoon for us since last time we had our family with us in Las Vegas. The hotel was beautiful. Sky was so blue, fresh air from the ocean. We felt like we were in heaven. Next 2 days we spent our time to snorkel at the different island: Xcaret, and Cozumel. It was the first snorkeling trip for Jose. I was so impress that he did a very good job. We saw lots of beautiful fish..... and 2 sharks. We will for sure go back and visit the island again.

Yesterday Jose surprised me with a big bouquet of flower and a sweetest card for the reason that he missed me so much. My heart beat as fast as the first day we met. All memories from the first time we met came through my head. I felt so lucky that I met him. It's such a great feeling that we both know how important of each other and we can do it without waiting for the occasions like valentine or our wedding anniversary. Our chemistry is so strong and we have been praying everyday for God to make us stay close together as long as we can. This is what he wrote to me

Jose showed me his work on a 3D study model for our dream house last night. It looks so real as if it's already been build!!

Amazing!!! for the technology and programs we have. I don't know what our neighbor will think that they have a tall building pop up in the area.

But well!!! it's a super cool building, and we hope we will have a chance to really build it.

Cherry Fever !!

The fruit I like the most in US is "Cherry". I love "Cherry" so much that I can eat and eat and eat nothing but Cherry.....

When I was in Thailand, Cherry is the very expensive fruit that my family sometimes could not afford to buy.

After I moved to US. I discovered that Cherry here is cheaper than what we have in Thailand. Then I decided to have my Cherry celebration every summer.

We got a tiny triangle shape lot from Jose's Dad in Dallas - close to downtown, and we are planning to build our dream house. Jose needs to go see the City to rezone. We hope that it will get approved so we can build it.

I never dream to have an old style house with a big yard....
